Our Structure


Stage 1 – EVALUATION (1 month)

Students in our program begin by participating in a 30-day evaluation stage. Students are required to be fully detoxed before entering the program. DITR is a zero-tolerance center for all substances (including tobacco). All students will be provided with non-prescription medication when deemed necessary.

During this stage, training will be provided to students in hydration, grooming and self-care. A basic dress code will be enforced, and small chores will be assigned. All students will receive a physical check-up, disease screening and by-weekly counseling.

During the first month students will be required to read a book assigned to them and write a paragraph on the book’s relevance to their journey towards sobriety. Students will be encouraged to keep a daily journal.

Student privileges will be determined by program coordinators. Phone use will be granted after the first 14 days of attendance and be based on student progress. Visitation may be granted after 2 weeks and will be on Saturday from 12 – 5 p.m. In order to progress to stage 2, students must meet all requirements of the program.

Stage 2 – MENTAL RESET (4 months)

The second stage is a four-month program designed to reset the brain from old harmful habits. During this step students begin to leave behind destructive lifestyles and begin the transformation. The program will provide close guidance. Students will complete a study program which includes reading two assigned books, Bible study and a specialized teacher supervised 14-week study course. Students will also enter into a supervised work program where they will earn a wage, which will be kept in a student account and used toward the student’s cost of living when stage 2 is completed.

One-on-one spiritual and personal counseling will be provided as needed. Student privileges will include 30-minute phone calls, by-monthly visits and one day supervised passes. Students will be random drug tested during this period. An oral presentation describing life before and after entering the program is required before completion of stage 2.

Stage 3 – SKILL BUILDING (3 months)

In this stage students will begin to learn the personal responsibility required to be a successful adult. They will learn to plan meals, budget, balance a checkbook, pay bills, complete job searches, write good resumes and effectively interview.

The students will also learn marriage relationship and parenting skills. The students will continue to receive job training and receive a wage for work completed. This stage includes a daily devotional program, Bible study, Scripture verse memorization and learning the meaning of fasting and prayer. Students will continue to receive one-on-one counseling in the area of spirituality and personal finance.

Student privileges will increase based on merit. During this stage random drug testing will continue, including nicotine. Before this phase is considered complete, students will give a presentation to their peers explaining the benefits of completing the program thus far.


In this stage students begin to formulate future plans. They start to plan about career choice, acquiring housing, entering educational programs and recommitment to their personal relationships. Students will fill out job applications, seek employment and step into leadership roles. The program will supply guidance and counseling from staff and partner businesses.

Students will continue their training in personal finance, and job-seeking sills, personal grooming, but at an advanced level. The students will continue spiritual studies through daily devotionals, mentorship or other students and Scripture research. Students continue to receive job training and wages will be kept in their student account.

Student privileges will be determined by merit. Counseling and guidance will continue to be provided by staff based on need. The students will continue to be random drug tested, including nicotine. Before completion of this stage, students will give an oral presentation to family and friends.

Stage 5: EQUIPPED (WITH IGNITION) (1 month)

The students will begin to finalize plans in their attempt to be independent away from the program’s structure. The students will find a job, ministry or enter our in-house internship program. The students will continue their spiritual studies and will read “The Richest Man Who Ever Lived” by Steven K. Scott.

The students will continue to receive job training, earn a wage, and have access to their personal account kept by the center. The student will continue to receive guidance and counseling from the center’s staff.

Student privileges will continue to be based on merit. Upon completion of the program, the student will graduate, receive a diploma, and give a presentation at the graduation celebration about his or her accomplishment.
